Magilligan Ferry & Inishowen

The Lough Foyle Ferry and Inishowen, County Donegal

If you'd like to explore a little of Donegal during your stay with us, the Lough Foyle ferry runs between Magilligan Point (ten miles due north of the hotel) and Greencastle, County Donegal.

Fares are £3 return for foot passengers and £15 return for a car and driver. The ferry departs Magilligan hourly from 9:15am and returns from Greencastle on the hour until 8pm in the Summer months. Sailings stop earlier at other times of the year, so it's worthwhile checking the schedule in advance to see the last sailing times.

Greencastle is a sleepy fishing village and, as you'd expect, home to some of the best fresh fish restaurants anywhere in Ireland. There are also plenty of welcoming pubs to explore both in Greencastle and in the nearby town of Moville, home to the Sunday World Irish Pub of the Year, Rosato's.

Greencastle is also the jumping off point for exploring the Inishowen Penninsula and the rest of Donegal, making the ferry from Magilligan an ideal day out during your stay at the Roe Park Resort.
