Terry Kelly, Golf and Spa Manager at the Roe Park Resort, Limavady has been named ‘Golf Manager of the Year 2018’ at the prestigious Golfers Guide to Ireland Awards.  Terry was presented with the award by Mary Mitchel O’Connor, TD Minister of State for Higher Education, at a glittering award ceremony held in The Portmarnock Hotel and Golf Links, Co. Dublin.

The award recognises those who have gone above and beyond in their role as Golf Manager.  Terry was nominated for the award and supported by a number of letters of recommendation, and following an interview process, he was named the overall winner for the category.  The judges for the Golfers Guide to Ireland Awards, commented on Terry’s professionalism in overseeing the resort’s golf and spa offering.  They also gave credit to his continuous professional development, as he is currently studying for an Executive MBA at the University of Ulster.

The award follows a stream of success for the Roe Park Resort, following a £1m investment programme in the golf and leisure facilities over the past 5 years which saw the redevelopment of its golf course, and an enhancement of its driving range, golf club, academy and 18 hole course.  Since 2015 the resort has won 8 awards including IGTOA Golf Resort of the Year 2016 and 2017, Best Golf Resort in Ulster from Golfers Guide to Ireland, and 2017 Golf Hotel of the Year at the Irish Hotel Awards.

Speaking about his win, Terry Kelly said:
“I’m really delighted to have been given this accolade, and am thrilled to be recognised in these prestigious awards.  The resort has gone from strength to strength over the years, and I’m delighted to have played a part in its continued success and development.  This is a fantastic way to ‘tee off’ 2018, and prepare ahead of The Open in Portrush 2019.”
