Roe Park Resort leads the way in ‘Social Commerce’ The Roe Park Resort in Limavady has seen an unprecedented rise in demand as a result of an online offer they have run in conjunction with a new platform on Facebook. The offer for 1 night B&B at the deluxe golf and spa resort from only £42.50 per person sharing has been shared on almost 49,000 facebook pages, creating the potential for up to £2 million pounds of bookings. “Facebook offers” gives businesses the opportunity to run promotions which, as the luxurious 4 star resort soon found out, can quickly become viral. By clicking on the offer on Facebook a coupon is automatically sent to the user’s private email which the user must print out or display on their phone when checking in at the hotel.
Although the Roe Park Resort offer has been hugely successful, they have been careful in managing the deal so no one is disappointed. Sinead McElhinney, eCommerce manager for The Roe Park Resort said, “We have seen an enormous increase in bookings through our website as a result of the offer and our phones have been ringing off the hook but we still have space for anyone still wanting to take part in the promotion.”
The 118 room resort, located on the edge of the scenic Roe Valley Country Park, is one of the first Northern Ireland companies to embrace what marketing experts are calling “social commerce.” Sinead added, “We see online as an enormous part of our business with a significant investment in social media being part of our marketing plann but this represents an evolution of that strategy and one which has paid dividends already.” The deal is subject to availability and excludes certain dates so anyone who wants to take advantage of the offer is urged to book early to avoid disappointment.
