Sticky Toffee Pudding with Toffee Sauce


  • 1 lb of dates           
  • 900ml of water             
  • 3 tea spoons of baking soda             
  • 1 lb 2oz of flour             
  • 1 lb 2oz of sugar 
  • 5.5 oz margarine             
  • 6 eggs  


  • Put the dates in water, and place in sauce pan and bring to the boil. (allow to cool
  • Whisk the sugar and margarine together until light and fluffy              
  • Add the baking soda to the flour             
  • Fold the flour and baking soda mix into the sugar and margarine mix            
  • Add the cooled dates to the mixure.             
  • Pour into well greased tin             
  • Bake for 35 minutes at 175 degrees Celsius (until firm to touch)              
  • Present
