The annual Elemis Spa Ladies’ Open returned to the Roe Park Resort on bank holiday Monday with over 150 lady golfers from 11 different clubs competing for the top prize.
Over 50 teams of three took to the 18-hole parkland course with great weather helping to provide excellent playing conditions.
The Ladies Open at Roe Park Resort is swiftly becoming a standout fixture on the ladies golf circuit, and this year’s event saw a significant increase in numbers taking part.
Lady Captain of Roe Park Golf Club, Karen Brown commented “It’s a great top prize this year of £300 of Resort vouchers for the winners, and I think this has proven to be a great draw for the players. It’s thrilling to see teams from as far away as Donegal, Belfast and Ballycastle make the effort to come and play.
Roe Park Resort boasts a superb course and there has been such a friendly atmosphere around the whole competition. It’s also fantastic that none of the players went home empty handed, since every lady who was out on the fairways received a free Elemis gift bag worth £25 to thank them for taking part.”
In the end, it was Lucinda McGuiness from Roe Park GC, and Mary O’ Kane and Emma Leslie from Mayola GC that prevailed as winners.
Roe Park Resort Golf & Spa Manager Terry Kelly commented “We are delighted with the response we received to this year’s event – having seen a 25% increase in the number of golfers registered. It was fantastic to see so many teams putting their game to the test out on the course.

Next year’s Elemis Spa Ladies’ Open will take place on 20th August 2017.
