Staff from Roe Park Resort have been gaining a better picture of their health with Action Cancer’s MOT Health Checks, as part of a new wellbeing initiative organised by the luxury four star Resort.
Over 50 employees took part in the ‘MOT’s’, which were conducted by Action Cancer’s Health Promotion team. The checks monitor key indicators such as blood pressure, cholesterol, respiration, muscle mass, hydration levels and Body Mass Index (BMI) to give an indication of an individual’s health and wellbeing.
Following the checks, the Action Cancer team offered every employee tailored advice on leading a healthy lifestyle, addressing factors such as diet and exercise, which can help prevent serious illness such as cancer.
Sinead McNicholl, Brand and Marketing Manager, Roe Park Resort said, “Supporting employee health and wellbeing is very important to us, so we were delighted to welcome the Action Cancer Team to the Resort. We are really grateful to their health professionals for sharing their expertise with us.”
Leigh Chamberlain, Events & Local Group Support Officer said, “At Action Cancer our mission is saving lives and supporting people, through cancer awareness, prevention and early detection. We believe health checks offer individuals the chance to gain a detailed picture of their current health, this offers the opportunity to make informed choices to improve health and therefore reduce cancer risk.”
