Roe Park Resort Swings into Action with Golf Investment

The Roe Park Resort, Limavady has just completed an investment of over £100,000 in its golf course. The announcement follows a £300,000 investment in 2015 to redevelop parts of the resorts prestigious golf course.

The Roe Park Resort has contracted esteemed golf course architects, Westenborg Golf Course Architecture to carry out the latest course renovation which will be ready for the start of the 2017 season. Marc Westenborg is synonymous with high quality golf course architecture and has designed golf courses for a number of the prestigious Open Championships.

This latest investment has seen the 6th hole being redeveloped with the addition of a new tee box and a multi-tier green. The work was carried out by DAR Golf Construction whose innovative SportBond bunker liner has been introduced to keep the bunker in top condition and player friendly all year round. The liner allows water to filter through the sand and into the SportBond layer eliminating sand wash, soil erosion and flooding.
Terry Kelly, Roe Park Resort Golf & Spa Manager said: “We are delighted with the results of this latest investment, which has created further improvements to our prestigious course, making it a firm favourite for both members and visitors alike.

In 2015 the Roe Park Resort invested £300,000 in the course which included the last three greens being reconstructed to improve play and create a more challenging finish to the course. The golf course redevelopment also included a multi-tier finish on all greens and introduced additional bunkers throughout the fairways to give players a more competitive game.

Mr Kelly said “The investment in 2015 was hugely successful and received extremely positive feedback from our members and visitors to the resort. We are always striving to deliver the very best golfing experience and this latest investment in refurbishing the 6th hole will add to our offering, providing golfers with a challenging and competitive course.”
The Roe Park Resort has taken a holistic approach to developing its golf facilities in the past years with investment not only in the course but also in cutting-edge technology. “Our investment not only provides golfers with access to a prestige golf course but also to advanced golf technology to enhance their game” Mr Kelly continued.

The Academy also features an indoor studio using the latest technology in V1 Video Analysis Software, FlightScope Launch Monitor and E6 Simulator software, which is paired with the knowledge of experienced PGA Professionals to provide a unique method to analyse each individual's swing.
